College Expectations
In this section we cover the essential behaviours and attitudes that students at Farnborough are required to display. These are set out in the college charter and code of conduct.
College Expectations
Many things about being a student at college will feel different to being a pupil at school, you will have more autonomy about how to use your study periods for example.
However, lots of things are the same and it is important to remember ...
Attendance - Being a college student is your full time job and you should aim for 100% attendance. Your attendance is monitored in the same way as it is in school, any absences must be notified in advance via the Parent Portal.
Commitment to your studies - this really begins with your completion of the Course Prepwork on this site. You will need to match the number of hours you spend being taught in lessons with the same amount of time consolidating your learning through independent study.
College Community - Get involved in things other than your lessons e.g. in the Student Union, enrichment activities or clubs. All of these are great ways to meet people, broaden your horizons and give you more to say about yourself in future education or job applications.
Behaviour - we require all of our students to behave appropriately and with respect for others at all times. You are College ambassadors and your behaviour both on campus and off site reflects on the College as well as yourself.
Please read the College Charter carefully as you will be required to confirm that you have read and understood it when you enrol at Farnborough.
Please read the Student Code of Conduct carefully as you will be required to confirm that you have read and understood it when you enrol at Farnborough.
